The formalism for the Hz polarization has been modified so that the equations are identical to Ez polarization. This has the practical effect that in the Hz polarization, most impedance matrices will have changed, and all Hz reflection matrices will differ by a sign from previously (due to a change in the basis normalisation). This is detailed in a forthcoming review article by Lawrence et al. in Advances in Optics and Photonics.
If you are simply using BlochCode to design antireflection coatings, or dispersion-engineer PC waveguides, then you will not notice this change.
