This is a minor update to 2.2rc1 which we felt should go into final 2.2:
- an important fix to desynchronization processing
- significant improvement in performance and memory footprint for ranged queries (this breaks compatibility with 0.8 series)
- fixed crash on wrong provider parameter
- some small cleanups
