- Use POSIX string substitutions (shell internal) instead of external
basename and cut.
- Use || instead of [ .. -o .. ] since the former short-circuits and thus
avoids calling readlink and unnecessary comparisons for gnome-session.

lock on suspend" policy. This restores the Jaunty behaviour rather
