The Daily Inkscape
PPA description
This PPA contains daily automated Inkscape builds. These builds are generated directly from the Inkscape trunk on Launchpad and may contain bugs. Use this PPA to test Inkscape. If you need a stable version, please install Inkscape from the main Ubuntu repositories.
Changes to the Inkscape source trigger a compiler bug on the i386 version of Ubuntu 10.04 ("Lucid") and 10.10 ("Maverick"), so Lucid and Maverick packages in this repository are built with a patched C compiler.
NOTE: LUCID (10.04 LTS") IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY THIS PPA! I WOULD LOVE TO, BUT:
Revisions of inkscape starting with r11529 require many more newer library versions, which cannot be backported to Lucid without turning Lucid into Oneiric by proxy.
Changes to Inkscape mean that the older 0.49-pre versions could already not be built on unmodified 10.04 LTS ("Lucid") or 10.10 ("Maverick") systems. This PPA contains backported versions of the glib, gtk, cairo, cairomm and pixman packages, which are required to run (and build) Inkscape trunk up to r11528 on Lucid.
Please be aware that these system libraries will be installed from this PPA and that these versions have not been extensively tested with other Ubuntu applications that use them.
On Lucid, xulrunner-1.9 conflicts with this PPA and PDF export and Print to PDF are broken in Gnumeric. Likely, the same is the case for other applications that rely on a dynamically linked cairo library to generate PDF files. LibreOffice appears to still work :-)
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:cafuego/inkscape to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
