PPA for David D Short
PPA description
This PPA contains a growing range of useful little utilities that have been totally missed out of the main Ubuntu repositories. I'm not really interested in packaging unstable releases of available software.
Highlights:
* “command2literal” is a bash script of my own writing, which changes the way your LaTeX files represent accented letters. I'm doing it mostly as an exercise in programming. Once it's finished, I'll learn a new language by re-writing it in C.
* “lrzip” is an excellent compression utility by Con Kolivas.
* “fidefrag” is a filesystem-independent defragmenter; I wrote the manpage for it.
* “neverball-voices” provides alternative audio for the popular Neverball and Neverputt games.
To use this software repository, do “gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list” or “kdesudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list” at the terminal, and then paste the following lines into the editor. Save and close. You will then be able to access the software via Synaptic, and you'll get updates whenever I update the repository.
You should also do this at the command line so that the packages get authenticated:
sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com 9284DAE41B1A5091CACA355FAF12CBE2E1B54B34
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:chameleondave/ppa to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chameleondave/ppa
sudo apt update
