FFmpeg+OBS with vaapi and nvenc support
PPA description
Warning: This PPA is highly experimental. Use those packages at your own risk.
This ffmpeg build, includes:
- NVENC support, for NVIDIA GPU accelerated encoding/decoding
- OpenCL support
- VAAPI support, for GPU accelerated encoding/decoding via VAAPI
The OBS build, is just a git version of the upstream source.
In order to use the VAAPI backend on OBS, you need to use the latest version from GIT (or an updated repo like mine), you will find the VAAPI option in the advanced settings.
Do not issue bug reports, use the original projects instead.
I do not guarantee those packages to be 100% updated.
Sorry for the dumb package names, I just learned how to create one... Lol.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:lukycrociato/ffmpeg-vaapi-opencl to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lukycrociato/ffmpeg-vaapi-opencl
sudo apt update
