PPA description

Backports of Rust stack (from Jammy, Kinetic, and Lunar) to Xenial & newer.

This PPA was created to allow backports of Rust-based software to all LTS series supported at this Launchpad site (16.04, 18.04, 20.04, and 22.04). For example, the rav1e AV1 encoder which is now supported by newer FFmpeg.

Only those packages needed for building specific Rust-based software will be backported here. So this PPA will not be providing a "full" Rust stack, but is only for specific builds that require specific Rust packages. Also: no support is offered for this PPA so please do NOT report packaging bugs.

Adding this PPA to your system

You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:savoury1/rust to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing) 

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:savoury1/rust
sudo apt update
