PPA for Tom Schutter
PPA description
Mythtv packages specifically compiled and optimized for the VIA C3 processor used e.g. in many older VIA EPIA motherboards, including the ME6000. The C3 misses the CMOV instruction set available on most i686 CPUs. This recompile was done to resolve the SIGILL issue documented in bug 230191
This work is based upon the work that https://launchpad.net/~jens-ubuntu-svalgaard did for Hardy.
The packages in this PPA can be obtained by taking the default Jaunty mythtv package and editing as shown below:
Edit debian/rules line 61:
* replaced "-fPIC -DPIC" with "-Os"
Edit debian/rules line 73:
* use c3 instead of i686
* add --enable-small
Edit debian/control and replace all of the "Architecture: all" and "Architecture: any" lines to "Architecture: i386"
The PIC flags had to be removed to fix build errors as documented at http://<email address hidden>/msg82174.html
