The WordForge-Editor is a localization editor that attempts to improve the process of localizing Free Open Source Software by using all the possibilities offered by the XLIFF Open standard format for localization.
The use of XLIFF allows integration of much more information in the file (and therefore in the process) than the prior de-facto localization format used in FOSS localization. With XLIFF it is possible to embed in the file information about about glossary, translation memory, phases of translation, state of each message, results of tests or translations to third languages, variables, placeables in general, XML structure, and several other concepts. The correct usage of this information allows the production of much better translations (homogeneous, with less technical faults) with much less effort.
