PPA description
Update: With Ubuntu 20.04 Beta, those packages were already integrated, so no need use this PPA anymore. But you have to confirm you fingerprint's firmware version is at least 2989158, You can get the version with $ sudo fwupdmgr get-devices.
The latest Fingerprinter firmware can get from:

Right now the version there is 10.02.3110269.

Many recent Lenovo ThinkPad modules have this FingerPrint device, you can confirm it by "lsusb | grep 06cb:00bd".
First install the required packages:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xueshengyao/fp
sudo apt update
sudo apt install libfprint-2-2 fprintd libpam-fprintd
Then run the PAM configuration:
sudo pam-auth-update
And check the "Fingerprint authentication".
Then enable the "Fingerprint Login" and follow the enrolling fingerprints steps in the "Settings" --> "Users".
Now, you can login Ubuntu using Fingerprint, and the sudo commands can work with Fingerprint also.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:xueshengyao/fp to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xueshengyao/fp
sudo apt update
