This is a very hacky application to allow me to speed things up when I install Ubuntu (to avoid having to memorize what to install on 20 computers). This can be used (at your risks) by you, too, to discover exciting software packages in Ubuntu that you might not know about, or solve some common problems (such as installing all possible multimedia codecs, compressed archives support, etc).

I created this software for my own use and I am releasing it here if it can help someone. It is a huge hack however, so be warned. It is not threaded, not elegant (it sends a huge "apt-get" command in a terminal!) and is not translated (it shows up in French currently). These issues are not really hard to fix, I just have no time to fix them, so if you want to learn python or just have fun, come and hack around!

To use this software, you can grab my developer version (bazaar branch), or download the "stable" releases from the home page. To use them, just extract them somewhere, double click "installateur.py" and choose "run" (lancer). Then, gimme a big hug.
