Invirt is free software for providing a self-serve VM service, originally developed by the Student Information Processing Board of MIT as a free service for the MIT community. It includes VM creation and management through a web interface, load balancing across multiple virtual machine hosts, a serial console server accessible over ssh, a 3 minute autoinstaller-
Invirt powers the xvm.mit.edu service for the MIT community, but we're interested in seeing it used by others as well. Although we've striven to make the software configurable, it is still largely MIT-specific, so if you need assistance, go ahead and contact us.
Pending getting our source code mirrored in Launchpad, you can check out the Invirt source at: http://
