A user-space library to communicate with USB HID devices through libusb.
Some examples of projects which depend on libhid include mphidflash (a program to download code to PIC microcontrollers over USB), the network ups tools, libphidgets, as well as some actual human interface devices.
libhid is infected with the GPLv2 license which is entirely inappropriate for a library. Developers intend to replace the offending portion of the code "one of these days".
