MariaDB, a drop-in replacement for MySQL with enhanced features and patches. Built by core members of the original MySQL team, MariaDB also actively works with the larger community of outside developers to deliver the most featureful, stable, and sanely licensed open SQL server in the industry.

MariaDB development was previously done on Launchpad, but nowadays the authorative source code repository can be found on Github (https://github.com/MariaDB) and issues on Jira (https://jira.mariadb.org/).
