pydoctor is an API documentation generator for Python.

pydoctor was primarily written to be used by the Twisted project, and is used for its API documentation: http://twistedmatrix.com/documents/current/api/

pydoctor works by parsing the source code and examining the syntax trees of Python modules and packages, which has advantages and disadvantages over generating the documentation from examining live objects, as some other documentation tools do.
