SafeKeep is a centralized and easy to use backup application that combines the best features of a mirror and an incremental backup. It sets up the appropriate environment for compatible backup packages and simplifies the process of running them.

SafeKeep's home page is at http://safekeep.sourceforge.net

This project is an effort to autobuild safekeep packages for Ubuntu.

Even though it uses rdiff-backup (using librsync) like other backup tools, SafeKeep differs from tools like Deja-Dup (using duplicity) in that it uses a simple XML style configuration syntax to configure backups. The up-to-date remote backups live in a file system that is accessible to the user directly. Previous versions can be accessed using rdiff-backup to apply the reverse diffs.
