Selecting the partitions to use is one of the most critical and dangerous parts of installing Ubuntu. Since it is error-prone, users should be enabled to express their wishes as closely as possible to what they actually mean, to avoid misunderstanding. Having to feed device names like sda4 is far away from that, and current partman receipes are rather arcane, too.

This project tries not to solve that problem completely, but at least reduce the amount of occasions where partitioning mishaps may happen, by giving admins easy ways to repeat a partitioning scheme once that works for them.
