usbconsole is an udev helper that spawns gettys on USB-to-Serial adapters as soon as they are plugged in. This allows for serial consoles that don't need configuration or serial ports, though it only works after the computer has fully booted and udev + USB drivers are working. It therefore won't work in the computer BIOS or the boot loader.
This program is a part of the commercial product IServ Portalserver and is published as Free Software in the hope that it is useful.
