v6scan was created in order to double check the work of some cross-compilers for ARMv6. Since there was some uncertainty that the cross-compilers might inadvertently generate code that could only be used on ARMv7 machines, this tool was written to scan the binaries created and verify that only ARMv6 instructions were being used (specifically, strict ARMv6, with no Thumb instructions of any sort allowed.)
