My experience is on various linux distros. In the last months i work and enjoy witch ubuntu and debian, but in my work use other rpm based distro.
I have tested boot of many distros over usb drives and into virtualization software. I use virtual machines with virtualbox-ose and convert them from commercial software or from raw format.
