I am an 'Ubuntuneer' from Uberlândia, Brazil. Being with Ubuntu since mid 2004 (Warty pre-release) and being a fan since then... Had tried other Debian based distros before (pure Debian included) but it was only through Ubuntu that I was infected with 'apt-get-itis'.
Jokes aside, I'm a IT and networking professional with about 20 years of experience in almost everything related to computers. My current work activities are focused on networking and telecommunications gear from companies like Cisco and Avaya. At work, I'm also responsible for the company's intranet, which is partly Linux based.
My interest in joining the Launchpad is not strictly professional, though, but personal; I decided some time ago that all my home computers (all of two, I mean) will not run any pirated software. My biggest problem is lack of quality games and multimedia software for free platforms like Ubuntu. For instance... my old Win98 box plays MIDI files better (more stable, with less jitter, and with FULL GM support) than my newer Ubuntu box! That's my itch to scratch. Although I have little to to dedicate to it, in the code writing sense, I can to help with specs and testing. That's what I'm going to do...
