I'm a PhD student in earth science in the hydrogeological field at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) in Quebec city, Canada. I began using open source softwares on a more regular basis when I first started my master degree in physical oceanography 7 years ago. As for now, almost all the softwares I use in my researches are open source. One of my biggest wishes is to see open source softwares gaining a more widely acceptance amongst the scientific community. I wish I could contribute more in this regard in the future.
